The Good Bye
I come to thee, as a cheerful lad
To talk to thee and lay my heart out.
All I expect to find is a cold heart, sad
And tattered, not giving me a second thought!
Alas, I will see thee, for the one last time
(If possible), and then disappear from thy life
All my dreams with thee gone sublime
And thou no more my faithful wife.
What vows we made, all gone
What cravings we had, all gone
What we expected, all gone
What we wanted, all gone!
This one last time, by chance of destiny
I chose to be at places I would love to be
With you, and with you I would see
What we had kept safe in our memory!
Alas, we are determined for sure
To carve a path of our own
For now we can't each other endure
For love has into hate grown.
We part, not on a good term,
Hoping never to see each other again.
You are adamant, I now stay firm,
All we can give each other is silent pain.
I see thee as a deaf mute wall
Changed from the angel thou were
Like my principles you have your fall
And the worst is you aren't aware!
I never existed in your society,
I presume I am beneath such piety
And once I am gone like a departed soul,
I will be erased forever from your memory!
Good bye dearest, I depart from thy life
I hide my tears, carry a straight face
And gradually subdue thy memories with grief,
Remove thy face with another face.
I come to thee as a cheerful lad,
ReplyDeleteTo speak with thee and lay my heart out.
Yet all I expect is a cold heart, sad,
Torn and weary, giving me scarce a thought.
Alas, I shall see thee this one last time
(If fate allows), then fade from thy life.
All dreams I held with thee now cease to climb,
For thou art no more my faithful wife.
What vows we made — all gone;
What cravings shared — all gone;
What we desired — all gone;
What we had hoped — all gone!
This once, by chance of destiny,
I chose to wander places dear to me;
With thee — and with thee alone — to see
What we had treasured in memory.
Alas, we are resolved for sure
To carve our separate paths alone.
For now, we cannot each other endure,
For love hath into hatred grown.
We part, not on a gentle term,
Wishing never to meet again.
Thou art steadfast; I now stand firm —
All we can give each other is silent pain.
I see thee as a deaf and distant wall,
Changed from the angel thou once wert.
And as my principles suffered their fall,
So thine — yet thou remainst unhurt.
I never lived in thy society,
For I was beneath such piety.
And when I go, like a departed soul,
I shall fade from thy memory quietly.
Farewell, dearest; I depart thy life.
I hide my tears, keep a steady face,
And with slow grief, still as a knife,
Erase thy image — and find its place.
